Main business of the Institute for Production :
Fundamental research and development concerning industrial applications within the fields of forming and machining processes. Automation of technical processes. Company organisation. Business management. CAD and PPS applications. Education and training of graduates in manufacture engineering and management.
Expertise :
Hydroforming of tubes and sheet materials, conventional metal forming, design and manufacture of forming tools and machines for prototyping and mass-production, feasibility studies with the aid of FEA, laser applications.
Facilities :
Tool machines for conventional CNC-machining; deep draw press, diode laser, CAD-systems, microscopes, co-ordinate measurement machine, systems for 3D analysis of geometries, equipment for materials testing, robots.

Christoph Hartlhas over 12 years experience in research and application of hydroforming technologies; working as General Manager of the Hydroforming R&D Center at Siempelkamp Pressen Systeme in Germany;
Professor at the University of Applied Sciences Cologne at the Faculty of Automotive Systems Engineering and Production Engineering since 2002.
