The Fraunhofer-Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology (IPK) deals with research activities among other things in corporate management, virtual product development, product manufacturing, automation, and robotics as well as security and testing technology.
The division of Product Manufacturing deals with topics concerning the development, use and adaptation of production systems and manufacturing technologies. Research activities at the centre for micro production technology concentrate on topics related to micro mold and die-making. For this, specialized manufacturing and measuring equipment for high and ultra precision machining, non-conventional machining and generative manufacturing is available.
